Attica assesses fire damage

Fifty reports for the destructions of homes, eight for businesses and summer camps, nine for machines and 51 for damages to agricultural land have been filed so far with the competent body following the devastating wildfires in eastern Attica, the committee of the prefecture of Attica said on Tuesday.
The prefecture said it will forward the reports to the Disaster Recovery Directorate of the ministry of infrastructure and the Organization for Agricultural Security to start the procedure for assistance.
Those affected by the fires will have to submit a solemn declaration on the accuracy of the facts recorded and the economic damage suffered by each applicant.
The prefecture said it will proceed to clean out the creeks in burned areas to prevent flooding.
