Tsipras: Actions agreed at regional conferences will be implemented
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Sunday emphasised the importance of implementing the things agreed on at the regional conferences on development taking place throughout the country,
in a brief speech at a meeting with Attica governor Rena Dourou, the mayors of West Attica and the ministers attending the 8th Regional Conference on the Reconstruction of Production in Mandra.
The prime minister referred to the tragic floods in West Attica, a disaster that forced the government to change the planned order of the conferences, which had initially envisioned leaving the two for Attica, one for the east and one for the west of the region, until last.
Tsipras pointed to the importance of synthesising the different opinions heard and noted issues that were being accelerated, such as flood-protection works and town planning in general. He also promised mayors that the process will not end at the roundtable discussions but that the government will work with local authorities and other actors to implement the things agreed upon.
Tsipras will later deliver an address at the Elefsina indoor stadium.
