A lesson in humanity

The captain of the ultra luxury cruiseship Nieuw Amsterdam gave illegal migrants on Mytilini a most welcome gift and gave people a lesson in humanity.
According to lesvosnews, the cruiseship carrying 2,200 docked in Mytilini last Thursday, and the captain handed 320 illegal migrants food and clothing.
Looking at the port, captain Edward G. van Zaane at first thought it best not to berth the ship for safety reasons. After looking on the deplorable sight of the ravaged migrants he decided to go ahead anyway.
Upon docking he organized an unprecedented effort distributing clothing to the migrants utilizing ship's stores and the crew's efforts.
The captain handed out clothes, blankets, towels, and bathrobes, and also organized a food line.
The 2,200 passengers that had been touring various Mediterranean destinations watched the chivalrous act flabbergasted.
