Renewed tensions at Skouries gold mines
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
New tensions occurred at midnight at Skouries, Halkidiki. As workers in gold mines denounce, residents of Ierissos marched to the houses of miners and asked them to leave the area.
According to the employees, some of the protesting residents caused damage to cars.
This time miners gathered at the entrance of Stratoni, in order to isolate the area, and, as they say, are studying the possibility of temporarily leaving Ierissos and going to the homes of relatives in other areas, until the situation is defused.
