Economic recovery in 2016 will result from an increase in investments and the government’s main aim is to bring more to the country, Economy Minister Giorgos Stathakis said on Monday during a press conference in Chania, Crete.
“Of course we want investments. [Economic] recovery in 2016 will also come from an increase in investments. This is the government’s main aim,” he said speaking at SYRIZA’s local office, adding that great changes are needed in the institutional framework.
Stathakis said the plan will include public-private partnerships but the bulk will concern private investments and said the government is looking into actions to improve the business environment, such as simplifying the public investment’s system to create more transparency.
Stathakis was joined at the presser by SYRIZA MPs Valia Vagionaki and Antonis Balomenakis.
