Seven Turks seek asylum in Greece

Seven Turkish citizens, who arrived in Alexandroupola and Rhodes, are seeking asylum in Greece, according to media citing Greek officials.

This is a couple of University professors together with their two children, who arrived in Alexandroupolis, probably via Evros. According to reports the passports of the woman and children are expired. The family has reportedly been transferred to a care center

Rhodes reached three entrepreneurs, without the method used has not been clarified by officials. Of these, only one had a valid passport.

All seven have appeared before a prosecutor charged with illegal entry  in the country and are expected to request political asylum, say officials.
