Greece bids farewell to actress Zoe Laskari

Greek stage and screen actress Zoe Laskari was buried in Athens' 1st cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, following a funeral service held at Aghios Dionysios Church in Kolonaki attended by family, state officials, friends and ordinary fans.
Roads around the church on Skoufa Street were closed to traffic due to the crowds gathered to bid a last farewell. Among those paying their respects to the family were President of the Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos and former Greek monarch Constantine, a close friend, as well as a number of Greek actors, government ministers, Potami Party leader Stavros Theodorakis and several MPs.
Her husband Alexandros Lykourezos and her two daughters Maria-Eleni Lykourezou, Martha Koutoumanou and her grand-daughter Zenia Bonatsou accompanied the white coffin to its final resting place in the Lykourezos family tomb in the Athens 1st cemetery, where it was placed amid a final round of applause from the gathered crowds.
Laskari died four days ago in Porto Rafti, at the age of 73.
