Four injured passengers in 'Seajet 2' collision

Four passengers suffered light injuries when the high-speed ferry "Seajet 2" collided with the pier as it was docking in Sifnos harbour on Wednesday, the island's port authority said. One of them was transferred to Athens for further medical exams.
Earlier it was reported that one passenger was injured on the forehead and the second in the neck area and were both taken to the island's health centre for first aid and later discharged. The remaining 194 passengers on the ferry disembarked safely and boarded other ferries to continue their trip.
The coast guard said the high-speed catamaran has suffered damage to the bow section of the right-hand hull. It will remain in Sifnos and out of service until Friday so that the damage can be repaired, the ship owner "Seajets" said.
The ship was travelling from Piraeus to the Cyclades, with stops at the islands of Serifos, Sifnos, Milos, Folegandros, Santorini, Koufonisi, Naxos, Mykonos, Santorini, Folegandros, Milos, Sifnos, Serifos and back to Piraeus.
The company announced that it has reorganised its schedule for the next two days, replacing "Seajet 2" on its runs with its sister-vessel, the "Superjet". This will in turn be replaced by the passenger/car ferry "Paros Jet" on the Piraeus-Serifos-Sifnos-Milos-Folegandros-Santorini-Ios line, while the "Paros Jet" passengers on the Rafina line will be served by the "Tera Jet".
