Erdogan visit to Athens fixed for 7-8 December

As Vice-President of Turkish Government Hakan Tsavousoglou said, the president of Turkey Mr. Erdogan will visit Athens on 7 and 8 December.

Tsavousoglou also reiterated that Tayip Erdogan is the first President of the Republic of Turkey to visit Greece after 65 years.

"Our President is the first President of the Republic of Turkey to visit Greece after 65 years. I think this visit will have very significant results," Tsavousoglou said.

It is worth noting that Tayyip Erdogan has already visited Athens as a prime minister, a position he held from 2003 to 2014.

A few days ago, Mr. Tsavousoglou also explained that bilateral issues will be discussed, with the aim of further trade cooperation between the two countries.

The Greek government seeks to upgrade Greek-Turkish relations and insists on the European perspective for the neighboring country, while there are few who see that the geopolitical field is so fluid that if EU-Ankara relations are not restored, the country will adapt on the basis of new data.

As for the "agenda" of the upcoming meeting, the same sources noted that issues expected to be tabled include: The EU-Turkey refugee agreement, the Cyprus issue, the prospect of Turkey joining the EU, the threat of terrorism, trade and economic relations between the two countries and others
