General strike, protests in Athens, against omni-bill

The bill contains over 400 articles on a variety of issues in over 1300 pages of text, demanded by the country's lenders.

Civil servants union ADEDY will hold a protest at 12.30 at Klauthmonos Square and march to Parliament. The Athens Workers' Center and the General Confederation of Labor (GSEE) have called for a rally in Syntagma square at 5pm, while PAME will hold a rally in Omonoia square at 6pm.

Without public transport, Athens

Meanwhile, Athens  will be without public transport, today, as workers in the metro, tram, electric, buses and trolleybuses will go on a 24-hour strike, reacting to the omni-bill.

Routes will normally be operated on the country's rail network and on the suburban railway.

The ring will not apply

As the police said due to the strike on public transport, the traffic exclusion ring is not currently in force, while the use of exclusive traffic lanes (Buses) and any other vehicle (such as trucks, buses and bicycles) is permitted.

Flight modifications

Due to the three-hour postponement announced today by air traffic controllers, no flight will take place from and to Greek airports between 12 noon and 3 in the afternoon and there will also be changes to flight times.

In particular, Aegean and Olympic Air are forced to change their departure time to 28 flights abroad and 20 domestic flights, while canceling 13 flights.
