The ceiling of the Municipal Market in Chalkida collapsed on Thursday evening.
Specifically, at approximately 22:30 in the evening, part of the building fell, resulting in danger hovering over the heads of passers-by.
Pieces of the ceiling fell on the sidewalk, while, in the past structural elements have fallen to the ground.
Fortunately, at the time of the collapse, no one was passing under the building.
A crane was hurried to the site, under the responsibility of the Municipality of Halkida, that worked to prevent the risk of a complete fall of the building.
According to the local media, the rot to the municipal market building is causing it to crumble, as the complete restoration of the building has not yet been implemented.
