Veterinary clinic for wild mammals and carnivores in Florina
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The first veterinary clinic for wild mammals, the only one in Greece that will deal with incidents involving wild carnivores, was set up by the organisation for wildlife "Arcturos".
"It is very important because the main population of the brown bear lives in the wider region of western Macedonia and Epirus," a spokesperson of the organisation Panos Stefanou said to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency adding that Arcturos will now have the opportunity to address directly and effectively the increasing and difficult incidents of the nursing of wolves, bears and other wild animals.
The new veterinary clinic in Agrapidies, Florina, is fully equipped and can offer veterinary services of pathology, dentistry as well as to carry out surgeries to any kind of animal weighing up to 300kg.
