A message to Greece was included in the speech by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at yestrday's event commemorating two years since the coup d'état in Turkey.
The Turkish president from the bridge near the Bosporus sent a message to Greece, saying that "The coup showed us who our friends are in difficult times. We have memory. We may often not say what we have gone through, but we never forget it. It showed us hypocrisy. We know who prayed that night for us and who for the success of FETO. In the end, we will remember the silence of those who we considered our friends. We will never forget those who protected the coup after July 15th. We know who worked with whom! "
Erdogan said among other things, "Thanks to those who were martyred. Let God receive their sacrifices. This victory was against tanks, airplanes, thanks to the courage of veterans and martyrs. We heard the noise of the weapons, but the citizens were courageous and resisted ... This nation used its body against the tanks, and planes but never gave up. "
And he continued, "It is my honor to be a member of this nation. I am proud to serve this nation. We are not here to govern, but to serve the people. Like the war of independence, the coup has opened a new page in our history. "
The sultan then referred to constitutional change, stressing that "with this historical change, Turkish democracy turned a page. We have demonstrated our democracy all over the world. "
