The Greek community of Mylopotamos, in the region of Drama in northern Greece, is in an uproar after a local man was attacked and stabbed by six migrants hosted at a nearby hotspot.
According to 52-year-old man’s account to the police, six foreigners, including two underaged males, surrounded him and started attacking and swearing at him without any apparent reason. Before he could react they proceeded to physically attack him, with the 17-year-old foreigner slashing him with a knife in the shoulder. Bloodied and stunned the man managed to reach the police precinct to report the incident. Officers were able to locate and apprehend the culprits in a short while. They also found and confiscated the 24-cm knife which had the victim’s blood on it.
The 52-year-old was transferred to the General Hospital of Drama, where he was hospitalised, while the four adult foreigners were taken before the Public Prosecutor of Drama with charges of aggravated bodily harm and violation of the weapons and cursing law.
