Wanted NGO head turns himself in to Mytilene prosecutor

The founder of the Greek non-governmental organisation Emergency Response Centre International (ERCI), who is wanted on charges of migrant trafficking, on Wednesday appeared at the office of the Mytilene public prosecutor accompanied by his lawyer and turned himself in.
Along with another 30 individuals alleged to work for ERCI, he is accused of illegally transporting migrants from Turkey to Greece.
The suspect arrived in Mytilene on Wednesday on a ferry and was arrested after his arrival at the prosecutor's office.
Later, he is expected to testify before the island's examining magistrate.
