Tsipras in the US for a week - Speeches and meetings

A tight and high-profile meeting program with important political and economic actors will be followed in New York by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, where he will be for a five-day visit.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, Digital policy Minister Nikos Pappas, Deputy Minister of Finance George Houliarakis and Deputy Minister to Prime Minister Dimitris Liakos.

Speeches to the UN

Alexis Tsipras, during his stay in New York, will make two speeches at the UN: the first at the Nelson Mandela Peace Conference and the second at the UN General Assembly plenary.

Greece's proposals to address modern international and regional challenges

On Wednesday with the UN Secretary-General

The prime minister will meet with UN Secretary General Guterres with whom he will discuss developments in relation to the Cyprus problem, the refugee issue and the Prespes Agreement.

Rendzevous with Erdogan

The Greek PM will also meet with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan with whom he will talk about bilateral relations, the situation in the Aegean, the Cyprus problem, the EU-Turkey agreement and Euro-Turkish relations, as well as developments in the wider region.

The prime minister's visit to New York will show a keen interest in economic issues at a time when the country has just emerged from Memoranda and is trying to find its way.
