Greek ambassador: The French love traditional Greek foods

SIAL 2018 was a new experience for the Ambassador of Greece in Paris, Aglaia Balta.

Despite her extensive diplomatic experience, Mrs Balta was a relative newcomer in the French capital, and so she had never visited the top exhibition of food and drinks organized every two years.

On Sunday, he was present at the inauguration next to the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Vasilis Kokkalis and Enterprise Greece President Gregory Stergioulis at the colossal exhibition center of Villepin.

In her statements to the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency, Mrs Balta said:

- On the Greek presence in SIAL 2018:
"I think our presence is very dynamic. We are ranked 5th in presence, first is the host country France, and for the first time we are participating with 275 companies from all over Greece. However, I would like to emphasize that not only the numerical presence, but also the quality, is what we see in each of the stands we visit. Because the Greek product in addition to quality is good at marketing. It's sure it will go even better. "

- For Greek exports to France:
"Look we can do even better. Now that this general impression about Greece has been overcome in France, it has overcome the crisis. With the end of the memorandum since last August, it is true that they see our country with another eye. They face Greece with a much more positive eye and now believe that there can be business and partnerships with our country."

- On products with the highest export interest:
"It's the classic products, olive oil, olives, but we are trying to increase this range of products. Our aim is to have processed products as well as product ranges for younger generations. We are addressing people who want good nutrition, exercise, and take care for themselves. It is this group of people we are targeting now."
