The Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor's Office in Argyrokastro, have announced an embargo on the border for some 60 Greek citizens who were registered by law enforcement authorities as dangerous persons for Albanian national security.

Greek nationalists are expected to return on December 8, 2018, to the 40-day commemoration of the murdered Constantine Katsifas in Vouliarates of the Argyrokastro prefecture. The names of all these people have been distributed at all crossing points of the Albania border in order to prevent their entry into the Albanian territory.

Prohibition of entry for Cypriot MEP
On November 10, 2018, Albania issued a list of names of Greeks who were described as undesirables - Persona non grata, among them the Cypriot MEP Eleni Theocharous, who accompanied Konstantinos Katsifas to his grave in the village of Vouliarates.

Glevin Dervisty, an adviser to the Foreign Minister of Albania, said on 10 November 2018 that this decision for the Cypriot MEP came after the MEP's behavior.

Albania's foreign ministry believes the event in Vouliarates was orchestrated to challenge state security on Albanian territory. According to the report at the Kakavia border station, there will be strong Albanian police forces as well as the special forces called Renea.
