Deputy Citizen Protection Minister believes anarchist attacks against police are a sign that police are doing their job!

Deputy Citizen Protection Minister Katerina Papakosta attributed the unprovoked  attack conducted by anarchists against the headquarters of riot police in Kesariani on Tuesday, to anger, because police spoiled their plans.

When asked about the issue, the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection expressed the assessment of what spurred members of the group to perform their actions, which she visited the area on Wednesday afternoon. "That they are taking this stand is an expression of anger because they broke down the "trouble makers" plans," she told STARtelevision.

At the same time, Papakosta expressed the view that "blind" attacks are being carried out because the police are doing their job.

"The Greek Police is dedicated to the service of civil protection and the security of the country. Blind attacks are done precisely because it does its job," she said.

Asked how to deal with anti-authoritarianism, she replied:

"Where prevention and deterrence does not interfere with those who want to demolish the state, those who want to disrupt the image of the country, there is a plan for it and we will deal with it in an appropriate manner, always within the framework of the Republic."

Ms Papakosta oviously misses  the point that attacks against police stations, and guarded government buildings, is a sign that the state  is shrinking in terms of its ability to protect itself and its citizens.
