Featured Restaurant owner who charged 591 euros for squid responds

A restaurant charging 591 euros for six calamari/squid has caused a media sensation and  a variety of comments on social media. Even for Mykonos that seems outrageous.

The receipt from Mykonos is flabbergasting, as tourists from Brooklyn paid a total of 836 euros for 3 Ceasar salads, 6 servings of squid, 6 large beers, 2 bottles of water and a tomato juice. One of those "scalped" wrote in his criticism, claiming they did not give them a price list.

Francis Tejadas, one of the tourists who traveled to Mykonos, spoke to Iefimerida.gr of his unpleasant experience, underlining that they persistently demanded pricelists, however, the waitress avoided giving them. She, however, according to what he says, told them the menu dishes and was content to answer them that the prices depend on what the chef would prepare.

The owner's response from the restaurant in Mykonos
His own response to the receipt of 836 euros was given by the owner of the restaurant in Mykonos. As he said, the group of 9 people ordered 4 kilos of squid, which cost £ 100 a kilo, while underlining that his restaurant targets at a high clientele.

"There were nine people and ordered 4 kilos of squid, which was charged by the kilo. The squid was fresh and was 100 euros a kilo. We are the best shop in Platis Yialos and we offer high end services. We are addressing a high end clientele and in our shop you do not come to be satisfied, but you come for the experience. There is a minimum charge of 25 euros for each person on the beach," said the owner of the Mykonian restaurant.
