PM Mitsotakis: Our goal is to work harder and talk less
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
"Our direction is to work harder and talk less," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said at the first meeting of New Democracy's new parliamentary group on Friday.
He said he was moved by New Democracy's strong majority of 158 deputies, the largest for many years.
Mitsotakis asked the deputies to contribute to the improved quality of political debate and to contend by enlisting strong arguments. The July 7 vote is a reaction against populism and extremist forces, the prime minister said. The absence of the fascist formations from parliament is a conquest, he added.
He asked MPs to fight against populism every day by avoiding scandals and populist slogans.
Mitsotakis also requested that all MPs participate in the parliament sessions. The parliamentary podium rewards quality and hard work, he pointed out.
