Turkish Air Force officer requests asylum in Greece

A Turkish Air Force officer has requested asylum in Greece. The Turkish official fled from Turkey to Greece and requested political asylum, according to a Sputnik source from the Greek authorities.
"He is an officer of the Turkish Air Force. He went to the Kalymnos police station and said he had abandoned President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's status and requested asylum, " the source told Sputnik.
According to the same source, the Turkish officer has been detained at Kalymnos police station since Monday. The Greek authorities are informed of the incident. Other details of the incident are not known at this time.
