A memorandum of cooperation in ten archaeological sites was signed by the Ministry of Culture and the Hellenic Red Cross.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Culture, a memorandum of cooperation for the provision of first aid to ten of the most important archaeological sites in Greece, was signed between the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Hellenic Red Cross, by the Minister of Culture and Sports, Ms. Lina Mendis. and President of the HRC Mr. Antonis Avgerinos.

With the cooperation of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and the Greek Red Cross, reliable and continuous first aid will be provided to visitors to the ten archaeological sites, covering the recent shortage in this area, while some archaeological sites already have the cooperation.

The Memorandum of Understanding concerns the following areas:

Acropolis of Athens
Knossos
Acropolis of Mycenae and Treasure Atrea
Delphi
Epidaurus
Sounio
Ancient Olympia
Ancient Corinth
Mysteries
Lindos Acropolis

Ministry of Culture-Red Cross Cooperation Memorandum

The Hellenic Red Cross undertakes to provide, without any financial burden for the Ministry, the required pharmaceutical material at the archaeological sites, as well as to conduct training seminars for the staff of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Archaeological Sites and Expropriation Fund. For its part, the Ministry of Culture and Sport will facilitate the work of the Hellenic Red Cross volunteers by providing them with the necessary means.

To implement the program, a joint Scientific Working Group will be set up to monitor the progress of the work, as well as to examine and resolve practical and technical issues. The duration of the Memorandum is three years. Upon expiry, the possibility of extending it will be considered.
