Mitsotakis attends UN Climate Change Summit in Madrid

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will outline Greece’s measures on climate change in his speech at the official UN Climate Change Summit that begins today in Madrid.
The prime minister is expected to address issues such as the phasing out of lignite in Greece by 2028, and the adoption of the National Climate and Energy Plan.
At the same time, as part of the Government’s initiative, in collaboration with UNESCO, Mr. Mitsotakis is expected to stress the need to address the impact of climate change on cultural heritage, ahead of the meeting, at the level of heads of state and government, that Greece will convene in 2020.
