US envoy to Greece: Both US president, Sec’t of State know Greece very well
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
US ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt on Monday stressed that both new US President Joe Biden and the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, are very knowledgeable of issues affecting Greece, speaking at the 6th Delphi Economic Forum.
Pyatt told a live and online audience at the forum, held in Athens due to the pandemic, that Greece is a significant strategic partner in NATO and plays an important role, along with other European partners, in encouraging China to play “by the rules” in foreign policy.
Turning to a development from three years ago, he said he was impressed how the Prespa agreement between Greece and North Macedonia – as it was christened with the very accord – changed the geopolitical situation in the area, and how rapidly this came about.
