Parliament Lifts Golden Dawn Immunity
Today, the Greek Parliament lifted the immunity of Golden Dawn lawmakers Constantinos Barbaroussis, Polyvios Zisimopoulos, Antonis Gregos and Artemios Matthaiopoulos.
This act was a result of a lengthy case, regarding the extremely right wing political party's affairs. Only 16 voters were in opposition and 213 voted in favor of the lifting.
A new parliamentary meeting is predicted to lift the immunity of Larissa Golden Dawn MP Chrysovalantis Alexopoulos. Recently the MP left the party. The former Golden Dawn head is now striving towards an independent political career. Alexopoulos requested that Parliament postpone his fate, as he is scheduled at a Larissa court hearing today.
