Air Force planes cater to citizens in hour of need

Hellenic Air Force C-130 transport aircraft became the lifeline to safety of an 8 hour old baby and a pregnant woman that needed immediate transfer to central hospitals.
The baby, just eight hours after birth was facing severe respiratory problems and was taken along with his father and an emergency service doctor from Chios to Athens.
The C-130 landed at 20.30 yesterday at Elefsina military airport and was taken by ambulance to a children's hospital.
In the second instance, a C-130 carried a 35 year old woman, in her thirtieth month of pregnancy, was taken from Rhodes to Iraklio on Crete. The plane landed at Iraklio at 13.15 and the woman was carried by ambulance to hospital.
