Premature Elections Triggered by Resignation of Golden Dawn MPs
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The scenario of premature elections is being fueled by Golden Dawn, after rumors that it may force such an eventuality through a mass resignation of its MPs.
The scenario, along with the announcement, yesterday, by a reservist group calling for the resignation of the government sparked off heated remarks in parliament and outside.
The issue began, when SYRIZA MP Dimitris Papadimoulis spoke of the manipulation of the announcement of a "few hotheads" to pose a worn and rewarmed dilemma: "Samaras or tanks".
Mr. Papadimoulis noted that in the event of elections, SYRIZA will transform them into a double referendum, against Nazism and against the memorandum.
Meanwhile, outside the parliament building, Golden Dawn secretary general Nikolaos Mihaloliakos, when asked if his party would ask deputies to resign answered: "We will use all means to protect our political honor."
Mr Mihaloliakos, in answer to a question, if such a move would destabilize the country, stated that it would be the fault of those demonizing Golden Dawn if it happened.
