The Greek-owned cruise ship Celestyal Nefeli with 710 passengers on board sailed into the port of Kos on Wednesday.
The perimeter wall outside the Korydallos women's prison was demolished in the presence of Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis, local government officials and Piraeus-area MPs on Tuesday, in a first step toward converting the site into a public park.
The government and justices have been exchanging barbs and trading insults over what both sides claim are attempts by one branch of government to intervene at the expense of the other's autonomy.
