Papastratos CMC SA, the largest tobacco products manufacturer in Greece, has donated five high-speed boats worth 2.4 million euros to the Hellenic Coast Guard in recognition of their efforts to combat the smuggling of tobacco products. The five boats were handed over in a ceremony held on Monday.

An unprecedented move was made by the commander of the Hellenic Coast Guard’s Underwater Missions Unit a few days before the celebrations and the parade on the anniversary of the Greek Independence on March 25th.

The cooperation of the Greek government and the European Border and FRONTEX, which, although at first experienced a number of difficulties, has been sailing in "calm waters" and has found a common ground of cooperation during the peak of the refugee drama.
