The final farewell to Κostas Arvanitis, the heroic fisherman who saved dozens of lives in Mati, will be said this afternoon by relatives, friends and grateful citizens.

The newspaper “Kathimerini” presents the timeline of events on the day of the deadly fire in eastern Attica, as it was recorded by the Police HQ’s radio system.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras visited the fire-stricken area of Mati on Tuesday to discuss with residents the implementation of the measures announced in the summer for the people affected, the course of restoration of the damage as well as solutions to any new problems.
