Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media Minister Nikos Pappas discussed with Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev on Monday the positive framework for both countries following the signing and implementation of the Prespes Agreement and the new era of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.
The Prespes Agreement came into force on Tuesday evening and Greece's northern neighbour was officially renamed the Republic of North Macedonia.
The new name is already being used in official government and ministry websites, and the foreign minister, Nikola Dimitrov, changed his title in his social media profile to Foreign Minister of North Macedonia.
Referring to his country as “Macedonia” and not as “Northern Macedonia”, the FYROM’s Prime Minister today celebrated the ratification of the Prespes agreement by the Greece on Twitter saying “investors know that we are now a stable and safe country”.
