Republika GornaMakedonija (Republic of Upper Macedonia) is the name of the neighboring country that is ultimately tabled for a solution to the FYROM name issue, according to information in the press.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis, President of Greece’s major opposition party, New Democracy (ND), blasted the Greek government for failing to address rampant crime on University campuses. Mr Mitsotakis visited the University of Athens and met with the Dean and professors on matters concerning campus security.
The majority of Greeks are against the use of a compound name by FYROM that would include the constituent of “Macedonia”, according to a poll carried out by Pulse for Action 24 TV. More specifically, 59% of the respondents said “No” to agreeing to the use of the term Macedonia for FYROM, as opposed to 35% who agreed.
