Australian journalism's highest accolade, the Gold Walkley, this year, has been awarded to the ABC's Mario Christodoulou and Deb Masters, along with Fairfax Media's Adele Ferguson.
The trio were recognised for their investigative journalism on the program 'Banking Bad', a Four Corners investigation of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA).
According to the judges the show successfully captured the human side of poor financial advice and its effects, raising the profile of business journalism.
"Really, this is about the victims, the victims who are fighters. But also to Geoff Morris, the whistleblower at CBA ... he put his career on the line and sacrificed so much," said Ms Masters.
"Journalism is such a privileged profession ... we're putting the spotlight into corners where people don't want it."
The show also took out the award for best TV/AV Weekly Current Affairs Program.
