A Patriarch frozen
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Patriarch Bartholomew walked the snowy streets of Constantinople, under stormy snow conditions
In Constantinople the winter is usually heavy. This year, the Patriarchate, in the Fanari istrict, was again covered in white.
Although the cold granted no favors even for the head of Orthodoxy, but he enjoyed a stroll even at sub-zero temperatures.
Patriarch Bartholomew walked the snowy streets of the City, under stormy snow conditions.
This resulted in a snow mantle and ... a white beard, while he seemed to have frozen. A characteristic image was captured by Nikos Manginas and published by www.amen.gr. website
