Greek Australian DJ arrested during record meth bust

Adelaide's famous DJ Chris C -aka Christos Cafcakis- known for his connections with celebrities the likes of Ted Danson, Gwen Stefani, Whoopi Goldberg, Dave Grohl, Heidi Klum, Chad Michael Murray, Alessandra Ambrosio, Elton John and more, has been arrested and charged following a record drugs bust in Western Australia last week,Greek Australian daily Neos Kosmos reports.

Cafcakis and another sever men were charged of bringing 1.2 tonnes of methamphetamine by boat to the port of Geraldton, 400 kilometres north of Perth last Thursday.

The Australian Federal Police and its WA Joint Organised Crime Task Force were monitoring the group of men for months and intercepted a white hire van into which they alleged the drugs were offloaded to be transported to Perth.

Three men in the van were arrested at the time, carrying 59 bags each with 20 kilograms of methamphetamine, the drug ice. Police then boarded the boat and arrested another three crew members on board and found more 20 kilogram bags.

Alongside Cafcakis, 44 are Stephen John Baxter, 37, Waseem Sliwa Hermiz, 38, Khalid Elia Keana, 52, Serupepeli Anthony Rasaubale, 33, and Joshua Joseph Smith, 43. Sean Michael Dolman and Patrick Leandro were also charged. All men are due in court next month.

The 1.2 tonnes have an estimated street value of $1.04 billion and is the larger meth bust in Australian history.
