New airline launched by the omogeneia

A new Greek airline has been founded by members of the diaspora is getting ready to begin direct flights from Greek airports to destinations in the USA and Canada, covering the gap left by Olympic in 2009.

 

The new airline SKY GREECE is expected to begin operations in May, with a number of flights every week.

The founder of the company, father Nikolaos Alexandris called on Greeks to support this effort. “Sky Greece is a Greek firm, founded by diaspora Greeks. Therefore, we know what the omogeneia in an airplane. We came to cover the gap of “our” Olympic, since after 2009 the omogeneia has been orphaned,” said father Nikolaos, who is also the CEO.

As concerns the inauguration of flight schedules, this has been pegged for may. Father Nikolaos called on prospective customers not to rush, as he heralded cheap package offers that will be announced in the near future. As he noted, fares will much lower than those offered by companies already on the market.

Father Nikolaos also heralded the hiring of 450 personnel of Greek origin, with former experience, mainly from the Olympic personnel pool. True to his calling father Nikolaos noted that among available radio programs on the aircraft there will also be a choice for ecclesiastical hymns and music.

Despite his success within the clergy at Toronto, father Nikolaos Alexandris has extensive knowledge of his new field, as he is a licensed pilot, and has studied airline management and European Air Law. He also holds graduate degrees in psychology and sociology. He is the only Greek to have been include in the management of Toronto International Airport.
