A Greek to Become Interim President of Queens College

A prominent Greek professor will take on the presidency at Queens College of The City University of New York. Dr. James Muyskens, current Queens College president, will retire after 12 years of service.

Dr. Evangelos Gizis is professor of biochemistry with a specialization in food science. In the past, he served as interim president at Hunter College, Hostos Community College, and at The Borough of Manhattan Community College. He is also revered for his exceptionally successful career as Provost at Queens College.

Dr. Gizis will remain as president until a new one is selected by the collegeʼs board.
