Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will visit the Greek community on the island of Halki (known by Turks as Heybeliada) and the Theological Seminary, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew said during a Greek Orthodox church service in Istanbul on Friday.

A House of Representatives subcommittee has unanimously approved an advisory resolution to call on the Turkish government to re-open the Halki Seminary without conditions, or further delay.

Turkish PM Recep Tayip Erfogan is now asking for trade-offs in order to re-open the Halki seminary.
