Koufos at SDNA: "No fear ahead of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament"

Even the chance of competing for the Olympic Games is a blessing. Many athletes never had in during their whole lives, so we are ready to do whatever is necessary. We are working hard every day, getting to know each other better and we will continue improving as a team.

I feel great here, along with lads that I like a lot and enjoy playing with them. The situation was different last summer, but there is no doubt that I wanted to come. Things were easier this year, so I am here to help the national squad of my country. My only intention is helping our National Team.

Vasilis Spanoulis and Nikos Zisis are legends, there are no other words to describe them. They are among the best Greek players of all time, but that does not mean that the remaining athletes are not talented. If we manage to match this talent with the great athletic ability of the squad, I am sure that will lead us to something very good.

I am very happy for Giannis Bourousis. Of course I know his impressive accomplishments this season and his excellent presence in Euroleague. He is very talented and really crazy about the National Team, I believe that we have learned to play along each other after all these years.

Many players of the squad have great athletic ability, such as the Antetokounmpos and Nick Calathes. I am sure that every one of us has something that is missing from the next player, so we should fit each other and manage to follow our head coach's instructions properly.

Nick Calathes is ready to be our leader, totally ready and he has proved it again and again. He is very talented and also has the ability of leading a team with his decisions in the court. It is very important to have such a point guard. Nick is extremely clever and understands basketball better than many people.

We will not be afraid of anything or anybody. Some of the best European players are members of this squad, some others are playing in the NBA, so we have the right material to work. The most important thing to understand is that there is a long way till the end, so we have to earn things from it every day in order to reach our main target", said the 27-year-old international at SDNA.
