Patriarch Yazigi: Int’l failure in Syria is the failure of the entire int’l human rights and law system

Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All The East John X Yazigi slammed the international community’s failure and slackness in solving the crisis in Syria.
This failure reflects the complete failure of the whole international human rights system and the international law system, said the Patriarch addressing the conference of “Religious and Cultural Pluralism and Peaceful Coexistence in the Middle East” held in Athens.
Patriarch Yazigi added that what is happening in the Middle East in general aims at eliminating a human civilization in the full sense of the word and obliterating the history’s identity.
Reaffirming the Christians’ adherence to their homeland and the state of coexistence among all religions and ethnicities characterizing the Middle East, His Beatitude stressed that “peace and terror do not go together.”
He called for releasing the two Aleppo kidnapped bishops, Bishop Paul Yazigi and Syriac Orthodox Bishop John Ibrahim, who have been held by terrorists for three years and for unveiling the facts behind their abduction.
