US imposes sanctions against Turks aiding ISIS

Two Turkish nationals became a subject to US sanctions for their financial support of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, the TASS news agency reported.

The Turkish nationals are identified as Mohammed al-Seyed al-Hameydan and Hussam Jamus. The first, in addition to financial assistance, also solved issues of logistics and transfer of terrorists by various transport means. His companion also supplied the IS with mercenaries and served as a financial intermediary in transactions, conducted by the terrorist group.

The US Department of the Treasury announced the freezing of accounts and all kinds of assets of al-Hameydan and Jamus in order “to cut them off the global financial system.” Representatives of the department noted that they will continue to track all the accomplices of terrorism.
