Australian Nightfall Halts Malaysia Flight Search

  • Written by

This evening's Australian nightfall ceased search efforts for two objects revealed via satellite, concerning Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. A search predicted to expose findings if actual plane debris was identified, as satellites have secured depictions of objects approximately 14 miles from one another.

American, Australian and New Zealand airplanes will continue efforts tomorrow, as stated by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. Norwegian Shipowners Association spokesman Erik Gierchsky claimed to CNN regarding the enormous cargo ship requested in the search, "All men are on deck to continue the search...They are using lights and binoculars". Bad weather in the region has crippled current attempts for findings by the ship and aircrafts. The satellite images are located about 1,500 miles southwest, off the western coast of Australia.

Officials warned that identified objects could be of another nature, other than plane debris. However this is the most solid lead to date. Hishammuddin Hussein who servers as Malaysia's interim Transportation Secretary declared to reporters: "At least there is a credible lead...That gives us hope. As long as there's hope, we will continue". He went on to describe that searches will increase around the region and progress across the enormous search zone until explanations can be reached. Hussein stated: "For the families around the world, the one piece of information that they want most is the information we just don't have: the location of MH370."

Family members of the victims continue to wait for answers to the unknown mystery of Flight 370. Fed up with the lack of information on what actually transpired, many are frustrated and have blamed Malaysian officials of withholding facts. A protest was organized at the Kuala Lumpur hotel where journalists who are covering the story reside. Before security forces ceased the protest, a mother screamed: "I don't care what your government does. I just want my son back". One father of a passenger explained: "I have hope...From the very beginning, I firmly believe that everyone on board is alive".
