Malaysia Airlines Quest Leaves Families Frustrated

  • Written by

Today's Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 search ended in frustration, as no new material was identified.

Four orange objects located and thought to part of the plane, were actually old fishing tools. U.S. Navy heads supplied Australia with underwater locating equipment, but it won't be used until there is a specific search zone. U.S. Navy Commander William Marks described to CNN: "We have to be careful not to send it in the wrong place...But we also wanted to get it out there as close as we can to what we believe is the right place".

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot claimed to reporters this afternoon, "We are searching a vast area of ocean, and we are working on quite limited information...Nevertheless, the best brains in the world are applying themselves to this task. ... If this mystery is solvable, we will solve it...The intensity of our search and the magnitude of our operations is increasing, not decreasing".

Today's search included eleven tankers and ten airplanes, that scanned over 98,000 miles of the Indian Ocean. Malaysia's Transport Ministry claimed that the final voice transmission from the Boeing's cockpit was: "Good night Malaysian three seven zero". This statement differs from an earlier one offered that said: "All right, goodnight". CNN Aviation Analyst Mary Schiavo declared, "Well, it speaks to credibility issues, unfortunately".

The complex and timely search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, has turned the missing's relative's lives upside down. A visit to a Kuala Lumpur temple occurred today by many Chinese family members who lit candles, meditated and chanted. Loved ones are left feeling frustrated at the seemingly never-ending waiting game.

Collective family representative Jiang Hui described their current feelings, "Chinese are kindhearted people...But we can clearly distinguish between the good and evil. We will never forgive for covering the truth from us and the criminal who delayed the rescue mission." Malaysia Acting Transportation Minister Hishammuddin Bin Hussein claimed,"History will judge us as a country that has been very responsible".
