Primary deficit of 149 million euros

The state budget shows a primary deficit of 149 million euros on a cash basis in January 2015, compared with 812 million euros primary surplus in the same month last year, according to data from the Bank of Greece.

This, according to the same data, reflecting the decrease in revenues of the ordinary budget to 3.13 bn euros as against 4.46 billion euros in January 2014, while spending fell to 3.2 billion. euros from 3.609 billion euros last year.

At the level of this year state budget, in January, it recorded a deficit of 224 million euros, compared with a surplus of 596 million euros last year.

On a cash basis throughout 2014 the state budget closed with a primary surplus of 1.4 billion euros and the deficit in the central government level stood at 4.2 billion euros from 12.7 billion euros, in 2013.
