Hellenic Exports Decline 20.9%

In April, Hellenic exports experienced a major decrease, while imports declined slightly, as revealed in yesterday's official figures.

The Hellenic Statistical Authority reported that exports held 2.019 billion euros, compared to last year's 2.553 billion euro rate in April. This resulted in a 20.9% fall; this figure did not include oil exports, which declined by 12.4%.

ELSTAT reported that imports declined by 7.7% in April 2014, compared to April 2013. Last year's April held 3.930 billion euros, in comparison to this year's April that generated 3.629 billion euros.  Oil imports decreased by 4.0%.
