China & Greece Predicted to Ratify 3 Major Deals
Greece and China are predicted to ratify three major bilateral agreements, during Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's three day visit to the nation.
Greek Merchant Marine Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis and Chinese delegates plan to sign agreements regarding Greek businesses in China by the China Development Bank, maritime activities, and China Classification services. Li penned in a letter published by Kathimerini regarding Greece, "...open up new prospects for a deeper China-Greece relationship".
The Chinese wish to control an even larger part of the port of Piraeus as well. On Friday, the Chinese delegates will arrive at the port and visit their Cosco firm, that owns the two major container terminals. The nation has stated their desire to attain 67% of the Piraeus Port Authority. Premier Li will travel to Crete with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, as he is interested in the island's new international airport.
