Athenian Hotel Occupancy On the Rise!

Athenian Hotel occupancies rates have increased by 25.4% and totaled 64.1% from January to May of this year, in comparison to 2013's same months.

Athens-Attica Hotel Association Chief Alexandros Vassilikos commented that while the strides are positive, 87 hotels have closed in the nation's capital within the last five years. The current rates are comparable to 2004 figures.

He stated that urban tourism locations cannot maintain full occupancy rates everyday of the summer season. Vassilikos referenced how Athenian hotels currently hold the cheapest prices in all of Europe. They have also devalued since last summer, with an average rate of 75 euros per night, compared to 77 euros per night in 2013.
