IMF Managing Director Lagarde's Greek Bailout Comments

The International Monetary Fund's Managing Director Christine Lagarde has stated that it is not yet certain if Greece requires additional bailouts.

Yesterday, Lagarde commented to the press, "I would not pass judgment on whether or not debt relief is or is not needed or what form the European support will take...I think the jury is out", according to Kathimerini.

The IMF delegate believes that September's fifth analysis of the nation's adjustment program will determine if more aid is required. Lagarde added, "The first step is to examine the country's debt sustainability based on the primary surplus which has been identified and to see what we can expect going forward."
