Finance Minister Hardouvelis Desires "National Growth Plan"

Greek Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis has urged for the nation to center its efforts on creating a "National Growth Plan".

In Sunday's edition of Kathimerini, the Finance Minister contends that Greece needs to determine how its economy can generate more exports. Hardouvelis states, "We are leaving the six years of recession, unemployment, lower incomes, pain and anger behind".

The Finance Minister feels that the nation can't return to an economy that is guided by consumption. He claims, "The challenge we face is to envision a future that is different from our recent past".

Hardouvelis references Greek efforts to assist various sector's economic advancements including energy, shipping, tourism, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and logistics.
